Algarve Information

In the three decades since Portugal changed from a dictatorship to a fledgling liberal democracy, Algarve real estate has become a major contributor to the regional economy. The Algarve has become a top spot for holiday homes with a range of property developments across the Central Algarve. However, unlike many other popular holiday destinations, the Algarve has managed to retain much of its original charm and attraction.

Algarve property developments are most developed in the areas to the south of the A22 motorway that runs from Lisbon to the Spanish border to the east. However, once you start to explore, you will learn to appreciate the Algarve's contrasts - rural calm set against busy urban centres, gleaming white plastered buildings with an imposing backdrop of mountains, lush greenery giving onto sparkling sand dunes - and those breathtaking views over the sea.

Algarve’s Climate The Algarves’ popularity is based on the wonderful, mild climate, (sea temperatures are kindly all year round). The mountain ranges (serras) to the north separates the Algarve from the Alentejo district, offering wonderful scenery should you venture away from the coastal area.
